Student Filmmakers Magazine is thrilled to participate in the 2024 NAB Show in Las Vegas, taking place from April 13 to April 17, 2024. Representatives from the magazine will be present, eagerly exploring new and evolving technologies that cater to filmmakers, videographers, and moving image creators.

Furthermore, the latest print edition of Student Filmmakers Magazine will be available for distribution at the show. NAB attendees are encouraged to pick up complimentary copies of the magazine, which will be conveniently located at the magazine bins throughout the show floor.

Student Filmmakers Magazine has a history of pioneering initiatives in the filmmaking world. The magazine hosted one of the first, if not the first, Canon DSLR filmmaking workshop series when Canon’s first DSLRs were introduced to the film and video making world. Canon U.S.A. will showcase its latest developments and solutions at NAB 2024, inspiring attendees to explore the possibilities in cinema, broadcast, and beyond. With an expanded booth presence, Canon will showcase its latest developments and solutions, including a touch-and-try station for its new broadcast lens, the CJ27e×7.3B, and a Virtual Production area.

Highlighted at the booth will be Canon’s new broadcast lens, the CJ27e×7.3B, the company’s first 2/3” portable lens with a class-leading 27x optical zoom. This lens is designed for 2/3-inch 4K cameras with an ENG-style design, offering attendees a glimpse into the future of production.

“Canon’s exhibit at NAB 2024 showcases our cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking innovations,” said Brian Mahar, senior vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group. “We welcome any and all visitors to see all that Canon has to offer in the industry.”

The booth will also feature Canon’s RF cinema prime lenses, flex zoom lenses, and the RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z lens for hybrid shooters. Canon will showcase the improved PTZ tracking system, the EOS VR System featuring the Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens, and the enhanced functionalities of the EOS C500 Mark II, which now supports three new Cinema RAW Light formats through a new firmware update.

Canon’s display will demonstrate its continuous innovation across broadcast, house of worship, cinema, VR, and social capture solutions. The booth will include an LED Virtual Production set at the front and a display of Canon’s low-light SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Diode) Sensor technology toward the back.

Professionals across all levels can explore Canon’s complete product lineup and gain insights into Canon’s latest advancements in imaging technology through the lens displays and PTZ control room area. Canon will also showcase its volumetric video technology, currently used to capture live sports, which can also be used in a virtual production studio, unlocking new realms of creative and technical exploration for professional production companies, advertising agencies, filmmakers, and beyond.
