Thank You for Making NAB a Cinematic Celebration of Community

Your journey is what you make it — rise above the noise, own your path, and let your work speak louder than the rest.

In a fast-paced, competitive, and sometimes cutthroat industry, filmmakers need spaces that see them — not just as content creators, but as artists, learners, and human beings.

At StudentFilmmakers.com and Student Filmmakers Magazine, we believe that behind every frame is a story, and behind every story is a filmmaker with a vision. This year at NAB Show, we were humbled and inspired by the outpouring of interest in our publications — and we want to take a moment to say thank you.

To each and every one of you who picked up a copy of Student Filmmakers Magazine in the North and South Halls of NAB, thank you. Whether you’re just starting out, working on your next indie feature, teaching the next generation, or breaking new ground as a seasoned pro — we see you. We appreciate your drive, your passion, and your dedication.

A special round of applause goes to our Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Kim Edward Welch, and our dedicated International Press, Chun Mei An (pictured above), for representing our publication with grace, professionalism, and heart. Their presence at NAB helped amplify the voices of our creative community, bridging connections across borders, disciplines, and experiences.

We know filmmaking isn’t easy. It’s a craft that demands resilience, resourcefulness, and a fierce drive to tell stories that matter. Whether you’re stepping onto a film set for the first time or navigating the competitive waters of professional production, remember this: your path is uniquely yours to shape.

The NAB Show floor, like the industry itself, can be intense. There’s a lot of brilliance — and, at times, pressure, posturing, and even people who play dirty. But here’s the truth: no one else defines your success. Not the loudest voice in the room. Not the flashiest booth. The only thing that truly sets you apart is your integrity, your voice, and your willingness to keep learning and creating.

The conversations at NAB reminded us: community is everything. The future of cinema depends on shared knowledge, encouragement, and a willingness to both teach and learn. That’s why we’re committed to bringing you the resources, insights, and opportunities that help filmmakers grow — together.

So here’s to you — the filmmakers, educators, creatives, and visionaries who stopped by, picked up our magazine, and reminded us why we do what we do. We’re honored to be part of your journey. No matter where you’re starting from, or what you’re up against, know this: you belong in this industry — and your story matters.

Let’s keep rolling. The reel never stops — and neither do we.
