Community Spotlight with Matthew Sienzant

Musician, Filmmaker. Nazareth, Pennsylvania, United States.

#FlashbackFriday #FBF  Do you remember our Community Spotlight with Matthew Sienzant?

Matthew Sienzant graduated from DeSales University in Eastern Pennsylvania, completing studies in TV/Film.

Current Projects:
“Music and photography are two of my biggest passions, outside of films, and they influence a lot of the work I do. Actually, I wanted to pursue a musical performance career before I decided on film,” says Matthew, who is currently employed as a producer at a creative advertising and production company.

Other Projects:
”The last project I worked on was a music video for a local [Bethlehem, PA] band called FLINTface. We incorporated two HVX 200’s, one SG Pro 35mm adapter, a Lanta bus, and a solid dedicated crew. A good friend of mine, John Guarino, split directing and editing responsibilities with me. We’re incredibly proud of the results. Actually, I just recently finished a promotional commercial for the band.”

Indie Tip:
“Try to familiarize yourself with the crew before the first day of shooting. Working with a new group of people often takes some time to get up to steam before all of the kinks are worked out. Taking the time to get to know everyone prior to being on set – even if it’s just having an informal meeting over pizza – should help everything move smoothly once you get started. If you do go in cold-turkey, make yourself open and approachable, no matter if you’re the director or the sound engineer.”

On DV:
”I think digital video has yet to spread its wings. I think the development and release of the RED camera is really going to open the doors of video film making. I personally think that it will give film a good run for its money. I’m incredibly excited to see where it takes us, and I’m hoping to be on board for it.”
