Support Our WWII Noir Drama – Student Film Crowdfunding

Hey Guys!

My name is Eli Kaltenecker, and I’m raising funds for my senior capstone project: The Misfired Affair, a genre short film that follows Evelyn Gardner as she takes over her husband’s private investigation practice after he’s drafted into WWII.

She stumbles into a case of domestic violence, but as the victim remains uncooperative, she takes matters into her own hands and follows the trail to the East End Motel. Evelyn comes face-to-face with the brutal reality of violence and her fear of mirroring the women she’s trying to save.

The Misfired Affair is well underway with over two years of pre-production and visualization. However, as we enter the final stretch, we still need your help. Production costs are growing, and while grants and personal savings have gotten us started, they can only go so far. Your support will help us create this story with the detail and care it deserves.

As the writer and director, I promise this project is fueled by real passion, not just student enthusiasm. Our cast and crew are made up of dedicated artists and technicians from Ohio University and the broader Ohio film community. With professional and school-backed advisors supporting the project, I truly believe The Misfired Affair will be something special.
