In post production:
“I have just completed a project for Songo Pictures called, Multiple, which is a thriller based on multiple personality. It was written by a doctor from New York who works with this disorder which is called D.I.D. It is a fictional story but tells of the disorder in a true way.
“This film features Joshua Wolf Coleman and Hollywood veteran Jeff Kober who has been in films such as The Hills Have Eyes 2, Tank Girl, Hidalgo and Enough, plus numerous TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 24, and ER.
“We shot Multiple in December of 2006, and it is currently in post production.
A unique challenge:
“One of the largest problems I had to overcome on this project was being the youngest person on set, excluding a few children that were running around and an amazing child star by the name of Kyra Walters. I had to let everyone know that I do know what I am doing and you can trust me. It took a long time to overcome that and to tell you the truth, I am not fully convinced that I did but I think I at least showed that I do know how to direct a film. “To be completely truthful, the day Jeff Kober came on set I was really nervous. He has worked with some amazing directors and knows what he is doing on a movie set. Luckily, he is an amazing guy and taught me some really valuable filmmaking lessons. After the first day, I was really comfortable and felt good when I walked him through a scene, and it turned out really good. “Another, more practical, difficulty I had to overcome was shooting a 146-scene, low-budget film in 25 days. It was a task that made me sweat I have to admit, but I never let anyone see me sweat. I just did what I had to do to get it shot in time, and shot well. The last day of shooting we had to complete 24 scenes in one day. Not an easy task. Each scene could have up to 4 set ups. Easily a 2 or 3 day shoot and that would be fast. I re-blocked my scenes on the fly and did what I had to do to get it shot. We shot till about 4 in the morning, but we got it all in, and it was the best looking footage of the whole movie in my opinion. The short schedule was a problem but one that was overcome with determination.”
JOEL WEAR Location: North Bend, Oregon, United States networking.studentfilmmakers.com/Exemplarfilms face with a brutal truth buried in delusions. Unglued is currently in post production and is expected to be submitted to festivals starting in late August early September.” A unique challenge:
”Natural light was certainly my biggest challenge shooting Unglued. We had one entire shoot weekend with pages of shots that, at least in the script, called for a gloomy overcast environment. The location was remote, and was the single most expensive location we had encountered to date. So once the shoot was scheduled, as the cinematographer, I just had to cross my fingers and hope for the best. “Wouldn’t you know we had beautiful, sunny skies! We had to adjust the script to account for the images we had to shoot, but in the end, I know we will have one of our best movies.”
